Kilkerrin win cup final (update 26/06/2009)
Williamstown and Kilkerrin fought out the final of the masters cup competition last night with the most exciting of finishes. With the sides level on 1-1 at the end of full time the game was forced to extra time. However there was still no separating the sides and so for the first time on the new astro turf pitch a game went to penalties. In the end Kilkerrin came out on top after both sides struggled to find the target.
Congratulations to Kilkerrin and commiserations to Williamstown!
There will be night out on Saturday July 4th in Hartes Glenamaddy to present medals etc - all welcome.

Dunmore take league crown (update 05/06/2009)
On a perfect evening for football the final of the Masters Astro Turf league took place last night as Dunmore edged out a victory over Williamstown. The game was played at a frantic pace with both teams giving 100% in the summer sun. Dunmore went in to a 2 goal lead but Williamstown refused to give up and drew level mid way through the second half.
A nail-biting finish ensued but a powerful strike by Dunmore from a free kick gave them the lead with less than 10 minutes to play. Williamstown kept coming but Dunmore held strong on a final score of 3-2.
Thanks to all involved at Glen Celtic in organising the tournament but especially Brendan Mee and Kieran Gannon. All eyes now turn to the cup which kicks off next Thursday night.

Williamstown stay top (update 29/05/2009)
Officially no games were played last night as Clonbern and the two Glen teams both failed to field a team.
Next Thursday night is the final night of league games - see kick off times below. Extra time and penalties if required. All eyes will be on the final game of the night as the two heavy-weights Dunmore and Williamstown meet to decide who is crowned champions of the inaugural Masters Astro Turf League!
Williamstown go top (update 22/05/2009)
Better weather greeted the teams last night in another round of the masters astro turf. In the first game Williamstown were given the points against a numerically challenged Glen Davis side. Clonbern had to fight right to the end to get a 4-3 win over a Glen Hynes side, while in the final game Glinsk again proved to be Dunmore's bogey team in a game that finished scoreless. The result puts Williamstown on top who had been level on points with Dunmore since as far back as week 3.
(update 15/05/2009)
Another wet night and another round of the masters astro turf. In the first game Glinsk were given the points against Glen Davis who failed to field a team. Williamstown had to fight hard to secure a 1-0 win over an improving Glen Hynes side while Dunmore maintained their joint no.1 spot with a 2-0 win over Clonbern.
With just two weeks of play left it's still all to play for, with any of the top 4 in with a chance of claiming a spot in the final.
(update 08/05/2009):
Wintry conditions greeted the teams last night in another round of the masters astro turf. In the first game Clonbern maintained the pressure on the top 2 as they came out 2-1 winners against a slightly understrength Glinsk side. The tie of the round saw joint leaders Dunmore take on Williamstown in a tight game which finished 1-1. The final game between the 2 Glenamaddy teams resulted in Glen Hynes getting their first win of the competition against a luckless Glen Davis side.
