Glen Celtic 9 Dysart 3
Glen Celtic played their final league game on Monday night when they faced Dysart. Celtic were slow out of the blocks in this game and it was no surprise when Dysart took an early lead. More lapses in defence saw Dysart go 3-0 up after 15 minutes of the first half. Then suddenly Celtic started to play and by half time had reduced the deficit to 3-2 with goals from Cathal Hynes & Peter Thomas Keaveney. In the second half Celtic played a lot better and soon equalised with Cathal Hynes scoring his second of the night. Celtic then went ahead with an Eddie Walsh special direct from a corner. Cathal Hynes completed his hatrick soon after and then Peter Thomas Keaveney added another. Ryan McHugh then scored twice and Stephen Fox finished off the scoring to leave the final tally at 9.

Skyvalley Rovers 4 Glen Celtic 4
Celtic travelled to Skyvalley on Monday evening knowing that a win for Skyvalley would put in the driving seat in the league. Skyvalley went into a two goal lead early on with a couple of good finishes. Skyvalley were really in control until Eugene Morgan hit a shot at goal which the goalkeeper failed to deal with and Celtic were back in the game. However Skyvalley were awarded a free kick and a great effort saw them go in at the break 3-1 up. In the second half Celtic played a more controlled game and were unlucky not to get a goal back on a couple of occasions. Then a through ball found Cathal Hynes who put them right back into the game. Celtic then got a corner and Colm Fallon's cross was met by Stephen Fox who equalised. Skyvalley came back and within two minutes were ahead again. Celtic to their credit never gave up and with the final kick of the game Colm Fallon scored the equaliser. A good performance and a deserved point.
Team : Keelan Davis, James Dillon, Conor Tully, James Burke, Eddie Walsh, Michael Geary, Colm Fallon, Peter Thomas Keaveney, Eugene Morgan, Cathal Hynes, Stephen Fox

In the first half Celtic came close on a number of occasions however Ballinagare broke away and took the lead. In the second half Ballinagare again broke the Celtic resistance with a second goal. To their credit Celtic responded and Eugene Morgan pulled a goal back. In a frantic last couple of minutes Celtic tried for the equaliser but it wasnt to be.

Glen Celtic 2 Roscommon Lions 3
Celtic played a challenge match against Premier Division Team Roscommon Lions due to the fact that Dysart conceded the league match so Celtic took all 3 points. In a game which saw Celtic field without a number of regulars it was a very entertaining game and provided some real goalmouth action, some good finishing, some poor finishing and a typical downpour during the game. In a first half that saw Roscommon dominate the game Celtic managed to keep a clean sheet through good defending, some excelllent goalkeeping by Keelan Davis and some poor finishing by Roscommon. At half time the teams went in 0-0 with Celtic's only effort a shot from Ryan McHugh which the keeper saved. The second half proved to be a more lively affair with Celtic taking the lead from the penalty spot with Ryan McHugh tucking away the penalty well to the keepers right. Roscommon came back into it and within the space of five minutes went from 1-0 down to 2-1 up with two well taken goals. Celtic equalised with Peter Thomas Keaveney scoring an excellent goal only to see Roscommon score in the last minute. All in all a good workout for the lads and with a run-on run-off system for subs allowed everyone to play and have a good time even though most people ended up completely drenched. Many thanks to Bob Molloy who refereed the match.
Team : Keelan Davis, Zach Conneally, Stephen Glynn, Michael Geary, Conor Tully, Eugene Morgan, Mickie Conneally, Peter Thomas Keaveney, Colm Fallon, Ryan McHugh, Declan Smith.
Subs : Jordan McIvor, Aidan Keaveney, Shea Connolly, James Dillon, David Ryan

Glen Celtic 1 Castlerea Celtic 3 (After extra-time)
Celtic's recent poor run continued when they were knocked out of the Challenge Shield on Monday evening. Playing a good Castlerea team they started brightly and had a couple of chances however it was Castlerea who came closest to opening the scoring hitting the crossbar with a header from a corner. Glen Celtic didnt learn from this and a couple of minutes later Castlerea took the lead from a similar corner. This seemed to stir Celtic to life and they deservedly got an equaliser when Ryan McHugh turned the full back and slotted past the keeper from a tight angle. In the second half both teams had chances and Glen Celtic thought they had a chance to win the game when Michael Geary was tackled in the are however unbelievably the referree waved play on even though the player had to leave the field injured. The game went to extra time and despite the fact that Glen Celtic were trying to win the game they conceded a second goal after some poor defending. Then trying to equalise they were caught on the break and lost 3-1. Credit though must go to the team who put in a great effort.

St Johns 3 Glen Celtic 2
Another game where Celtic didnt take their chances and were made to pay for them. In a game where Celtic should have coasted to victory they contrived to concede poor goals. It all started so well with Ryan McHugh scoring 2 goals in the space of five minutes in the first half. However by half time St Johns had managed to equalise and in the second half took the lead. Despite continued pressure from Celtic in the last 15 minutes they couldnt find the net and now have to be content with the Shield Competition.
